Chickpea Flour Pancake Recipe

There are so many things you can make using Chickpeas flour including bhajia. Decided to try somthing different today, Pancakes using Chickpeas four and the result was amazing. The pancake were so delicious , you can eat the pancake with yogurt, or pickles etc.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpea flour (gram flour)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 3 spring onions/or 1/2 normal Onion
  • 1/2 chili (if you want spice)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (I used Organic unsalted Butter)

Optional

  • 1 bell pepper
  • any vergitable you want to add

Instructions


  1. Mix in a bowl or food processor the flour, water, turmeric, salt, pepper and chili flakes. Leave it to settle for a few minutes while you heat up the a tbsp of oil or butter in a non-stick pan. Remember the batter needs to look very runny!

  2. Slice the veggies finely and add them to the mixture.

  3. Add oil on the pan and make sure the bottom of the pan is coated well in oil (just like when frying an egg).

  4. Add about a ladle of the mixture and veggies when the pan is hot - a medium heat should be just right.

  5. Cook for about 3 minutes - the mixture will quickly start to firm

  6. Use a large spatula to help you flip the pancakes, adding more oil underneath if necessary.
