About the game

Pokemon Go is a free-to-play location-based, augmented reality game developed and published by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. It was initially released in selected countries in July 2016. In the game, players use the smart device's GPS and camera to capture, battle, and train virtual creatures, called Pokémon, who appear on the screen as if they were in the same real-world location as the player. The game supports in-app purchases for additional in-game items.

Pokémon Bank is a powerful new tool for Kalos

pokemon_bank

Whether you're preparing for competitive Pokémon battles or you've just gotta catch 'em all, Pokémon Bank is a powerful new tool for Kalos Trainers. Deposit, store, and manage your Pokémon in private Boxes and transfer them into your Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games.

However Pokémon Bank won't  be compatible with Pokémon Sun and Moon now until 2017. Pokémon Bank is an application for the 3DS family that originally launched with Pokémon X and Y. The application allows you to deposit , store and then transfer your Pokémon from one Pokémon game to another.

The Pokémon Bank will feature an amazing new addition – a new Pokédex that tracks all the Pokémon you've caught across every 3DS game in the series.

How to get it

You will need to purchase any of the 3DS- compatible Pokémon games – Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon Omega Ruby – it should be automatically installed onto your 3DS/2DS/3DS XL. Or you can download it manually for free from Nintendo eShop, however, to actually use Pokémon Bank requires an annual fee. You can only get Pokémon Bank if you sign up for a Pokémon Bank Account and you have to buy a Pass at £4.49 a year.

Also you wil be able to get a free trial to try and if your pass expires you may lose any Pokémon you have stored there. If you let your membership expire for too long, you'll lose any Pokémon remaining in your Pokémon Bank boxes forever.

Pokémon Bank can hold up to 3,000 Pokémon at a time, with 100 boxes each holding up to 30 Pokémon each. You can also store Pokémon from multiple games – Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, Pokémon Omega Ruby and all the digital re-releases of Pokémon Red, Blue and Green.

Pokemon Go: Eggs and Hatching

PGO_EggHatch

 In Pokemon Go, you will be able to find Eggs in the wild, usually by interacting with PokeStop to find free items. There are different kinds of Eggs which can be hatch into numerous Pokemon, however Hatching them is not that easy.

Each player starts with one Egg Incubator, which allows you to hatch an egg after a certain amount of steps are taken, tracked by your phone's GPS and Pedometer and the game. There are 3 types of eggs, 10km, 5km, and 2km.

If you have more than one Egg Incubator,  use the one with infinite uses on 2km eggs!

Pokemon Go Egg Kilometers (km) to Miles conversion:

10km = 6.3 miles

5km = 3.1 miles

2km = 1.25 miles

How to Hatch an Egg

To hatch an egg, check your Pokemon list and hit the tab labeled "Eggs". Then clicking on the egg will prompt you to put it in an incubator to begin the process of hatching said egg.

Note that you only have one incubator to start with, but more can be bought from the Shop, or rewarded for reaching certain levels - although the shop and other versions will break after 3 uses - while your starting incubator has unlimited uses.

Once in the incubator, you'll be given an indication of how many more kilometers you must travel in order to hatch the egg.

Pokemon GO: How to become a gym leader

Pokemon GO

Once you reach level 5 you will be able to join one of the Teams and catching some good Pokemon. You will be able to challenge Gyms or train at one of your team's Gyms.

Pokemon Gyms are claimed by a team and, based on the Gym’s Prestige level, a number of trainers can assign their Pokemon to protect the Gym. One of those trainers is the Gym Leader. The Gym Leader's level is marked by a crown and has the highest level Combat Power (CP) Pokemon at the Gym.

Pokemon are ranked by their Combat Power not by level. Common Pokemon and unevolved Pokemon will have a lower CP. Evolved and rare Pokemon typically have higher CP.

To raise your Pokemon CP you need to power your pokemon through Stardust and Candy. These two items can be obtained by a variety of methods such as catching Pokemon.

How to control a Gym

You will need to take over an enemy Gym by depleting its Prestige in order to become  a Gym leader. Then the next stage is  to find the appropriate Gym to challege. Take a look at your Pokemon, then find a Gym that your team could feasibly defeat. You’re not going to want to take a 117 CP Paras to fight a 1000+ CP Pokemon.

Each Gym will have a different number of trainers, and the first trainers you encounter will have the Pokemon with the lowest CP. The number of trainers at each Gym is dependent on the Gym’s Prestige level. As you defeat them, you’ll lower the Gym’s Prestige and kick out the trainers in the Gym as you hit Prestige benchmarks.

Once you have defeated every trainer in the Gym, the Gym kicks you out. Keep challenging the Gym and you’ll be able to drain the Prestige to zero. Once that team is kicked out, the Gym turns grey and you'll be able to claim the Gym as your own and become a leader.

You will continue to maintain your Leader position as long as your Pokemon has the highest CP in the gym.
