The worlds first curved OLED monitor with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity has been revealed

Samsung has revealed the world's first first curved OLED 21:9 monitor with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity at CES 2018. The reasons why its the world's first is because of its intergration of an Intel Thunderbolt 3 port, which provides a processing speed of up to 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps), a rate that is almost four times faster than USB alternatives.

The Samsung CJ791 monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio, 34-inch panel with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and a 1,500R (relatively sharp) curvature. Since the device has a QLED screen, meaning that the CJ791 can deliver deeper blacks and brighter whites than OLED monitors.

According to Samsung spokesperson, "The CJ791 aligns Thunderbolt 3 connectivity with our best-in-class curvature and QLED picture quality to captivate and engage users, while also promoting improved organization and productivity."

From the rest of the specifications highlight a color coverage sRGB of 125%, a response time of 4 milliseconds and different image modes including a focused mode for use with video games. In terms of connectivity, it offers a Thunderbolt 3 interface that seeks to allow high speeds in data transfer, even reaching 40 Gbps. A connection that allows joining several devices with a single cable achieving speeds four times higher than those achieved by a UBS 3.1 connector.
