Review

First impressions of the Sense-laden, Gingerbread smartphone? It's very much like a Sensation on steroids, with a definite T-Mobile flavor.

T-Mobile recently confirmed that the Amaze 4G will be running Gingerbread and have Sense 3.0. Now that the Amaze 4G has gone live on T-Mobile’s website,

Design, Display & Processor

The Amaze takes after the Sensation 4G in body and build. The size and shape are very similar, with a flat, ever-so-slightly recessed face and a gently curved back. The patterns on the back are different, however--a metallic panel abuts soft-touch material--and the buttons and fit and finish materials have their own character.

HTC Amaze 4G running Gingerbread 2.3.4 and HTC Sense 3.0 and the device has 4.3-inch qHD S-LCD capacitive touchscreen 960×540 smartphone also features Qualcomm's 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, and  bumps the RAM from 768MB to 1GB. It's also HTC's first NFC toting device and joins T-Mobile's Galaxy S II as the other 42Mbps HSPA+ -capable handset on Magenta's network.

The device weigh 173 grams (6.1 ounces), height 130 mm (5.07 inches) , width 65.6 mm (2.56 inches) and depth 11.8 mm (0.46 inches).

The handset comes in two colors: black and white. Both will be available at the same time.

Camera

The device has 8 megapixel shooter, which features the same backside-illuminated sensor, f2.2 wide-angle optics and 1080p video recording capability as the myTouch 4G Slide. Similarly, the Amaze 4G hangs on to quite a bit of that phone's camera software, including a new composite mode that automagically creates one stellar image out of five less than fabulous snapshots. We also liked the addition of two physical camera buttons, one for stills and the other for video. The devide has a front camera 1600×1200

Two features purportedly take this 8-mexapixel shooter beyond. One is a new shooting mode called SmartShot, which works with portraits of people's faces. It takes five shots in quick succession and automatically brings the "best" elements of them all together. If you're blinking in one picture, making a strained expression in another, and moving your chin in the third, the final image should show open eyes and a smile, while all in focus.

The second new camera feature, PerfectPics, isn't part of the camera at all. Instead, it's a gallery feature that takes the top 10 percent most technically correct photos from your camera roll and automatically combines them in a separate album. From there, you'll be able to share them and interact as usual.

Connectivity

Device is inbuilt with all the advance connectivity features which are coming in the latest phone now-a-days, such are 3G (42 Mbps in HSDPA band), Wi-Fi hotspot, v3.0 Bluetooth with A2DP and microUSB (MHL) v2.0. Other connectivity features GPRS, EDGE and GPS also inbuilt in the phone. Other connectivity features GPRS, EDGE and GPS also inbuilt in the phone.

Memory

HTC Amaze 4G comes with 16GB internal memory to stores stuffs such as images, songs, videos, movies and other data. Phone also has microSD card slot which supports up to 32 GB external memory for mass storage.

Battery

Amaze 4G has a “better” battery in terms of mAh, comes with standard battery, Li-Ion 1730 mAh
